PERFORMERS
- Zoom session start times are noted – try to sign in early, and stay until the end of the group, or until you have heard at least two other speakers. Zoom room will be opened 5 – 10 minutes before the first speaker.
- Discussion after each performance – performers and audience will be invited to give friendly feedback. Discussion comments will be recorded and forwarded to performers after the week.
- Come fairly close to the camera + microphone so upper body and face can be seen, and speech heard.
- Story (Category #1): Tell stories in your own way, in your own words – no memorizing is necessary.
- Prose (Category #2): Can be memorized or a prepared reading.
- Quick Study (Category #3): Read clearly and share with your eyes.
- Please have your name (or group name) on your Zoom screen.
- Introduce yourself, and your province – then go on to introduce your story before beginning.
- Say ALL TITLES clearly – they are not in the programme!
- Invite family and friends to sign in to watch – share the link with people you know.
AUDIENCE
- Feel free to offer applause and encouraging commentary.
- Mute your mic except when speaking.
- Enjoy the wonderful variety of speakers and stories.
- These are all ‘works in progress’ – learning comes at different rates – celebrate them all!
- Larger groups will have less time for comments, but more performances to watch.
- Visit more than once!
ADJUDICATORS
We need adjudicator/scribes – Can you spare an hour to note down audience commentary? Contact me! Won’t be identified and will join in the discussion as desired. Letter grades assigned according to personal and audience reactions. Rubric provided with grade, showing skills that may have been considered. Main focus: STORY CELEBRATION – Marks suggest achievement at this particular time.
